What is summer without popsicles?! Popsicles instantly take me back to the good ol’ days sitting out on our back porch in Oklahoma eating popsicles with my friends in the afternoon heat – what a vision! Back then (and even up until just a few years ago) we weren’t paying attention to the ingredients in our food and didn’t make the connection to how certain ingredients and foods are not great for our bodies, guts, and brains. The main ingredients of typical popsicles usually include some combination of sugar, corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors and dyes, and other artificial ingredients – unless you’re paying attention.

It’s exciting that over the past few years the access to superfoods and healthy, nutrient-dense ingredients has grown! But what’s REALLY exciting is that you can take those superfoods and healthy, whole-food ingredients and turn them into a delicious popsicle! These superfood popsicles feature ingredients like matcha, moringa, maca, and golden milk to give your diet a superfood boost. Each popsicle is made with whole-food, plant-based ingredients using coconut milk and fruit as a base. Superfood popsicles are a simple and quick way to make frozen dessert healthier!

Grab some popsicle molds, your blender, and your Brandless superfood powders and make this summer refreshing and healthy!

Pineapple Matcha

“Tangy and rich!”

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk (or coconut cream)
  • ½ ripe banana
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or agave (optional)
  • 1 tbsp shredded coconut for topping

DIRECTIONS: Blend all ingredients together except shredded coconut. Pour blended mixture into popsicle molds and tap town on the table to let air bubbles escape. Top with shredded coconut and insert popsicle stick. Place in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours and enjoy when frozen! Let thaw 1-2 minutes before eating. Enjoy!

Strawberry Maca

“Sweet and refreshing!”

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk (or coconut cream)
  • ½ ripe banana
  • 2 tsp maca powder
  • 1 cup strawberries + more for chunks
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or agave (optional)

DIRECTIONS: Blend all ingredients together except a few thinly sliced strawberries. Place thinly sliced strawberries inside of the popsicle mold (I like to stick them to the walls of the mold!) Pour blended mixture into popsicle molds and tap town on the table to let air bubbles escape. Insert popsicle stick and place in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours and enjoy when frozen! Let thaw 1-2 minutes before eating. Enjoy!

Moringa Berry

“Creamy and tart!”

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk (or coconut cream)
  • ½ ripe banana
  • 2 tsp moringa powder
  • 1/4 cup wild blueberries
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or agave (optional)

DIRECTIONS: Blend all ingredients together except blueberries. Pour blended mixture into popsicle molds (only about ¾ of the way full) and tap down on the table to let air bubbles escape. Pour in wild blueberries to the top and slowly pour the additional mixture to fill in the gaps. Insert popsicle stick and place in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours and enjoy when frozen! Let thaw 1-2 minutes before eating. Enjoy!

Golden Milk Mango

“Rich and filling!”

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk (or coconut cream)
  • ½ ripe banana
  • 2 tsp golden milk powder
  • 1 cup mango
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or agave (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chia, divided

DIRECTIONS: Blend all ingredients together except chia seeds. After the mixture is blended, stir in 1 tbsp chia with a spoon and then pour blended mixture into popsicle molds and tap town on the table to let air bubbles escape. Top with remaining chia seeds and insert popsicle stick. Place in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours and enjoy when frozen! Let thaw 1-2 minutes before eating. Enjoy!
